Me and my friends stayed at this resort from 21st till 27th December 2025. We wanted to celebrate Christmas with our families together. We had booked 3 cottages (611c, 451 & 452).
The experience was disappointing to put it politely.
We faced issues right from the check in, lady at the reception did not understand or speak English. I love and respect German language but it doesn’t make sense that a service oriented hospitality industry is not able to communicate with the customers. I am sure this place would be receiving international customers who do not understand German as much to converse fluently. On top of that the complete apathy of the reception to make an effort to communicate with customers was shocking.
Unfortunately for us that was not the end of our troubles, the apartment had dirty linen. Clearly used linen was stored in the cupboard. Sofa was not cleaned and there were even cockroaches in one of the rooms. There was a leaking toilet in one of the apartments.
After complaining about the issues resort team resolved some of the issues but forgot to replace the bed linen. We had to again request for the replacement late in the evening by which time housekeeping staff had already left so we were given the fresh linen at reception to do the replacements ourselves.
Quite frankly the location and resort facilities are good but it would be a great experience for visitors if there was an effort to improve service and hygiene. In the current state of this destination, I would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

During our stay at the hotel, one evening I felt extremely unwell. The front desk staff kindly called an ambulance for me. While I was in the hospital, a lady from the hotel reservation department (sadly, I cannot recall her name) and Mr. Röff actively assisted me. I am deeply grateful to them and will recommend this hotel to friends I know.

This was not what I expected…
Spent a weekend here during a road trip through Germany with my dog. I really don't know where to begin. In terms of hospitality, it was one of the worst experiences ever. Here's a comprehensive review.
Environment and bungalow
What's really positive about this park: the natural surroundings and the look and feel of the park. It's beautifully landscaped. At first glance, everything seems fine.
We stayed in a double bungalow that had been quite worn down over the years. Dirty dishes in the cupboards and stains on the bed were included. The bungalow was small, but fully equipped. The resort opened in 2001, and it appears this was the last time maintenance was carried out.
Swimming pool
The swimming pool is beautifully landscaped and looks good at first glance. Until we discovered that the entire rapid river and all the hot tubs were out of service. As a result, the pool is about 35 to 40% full. At peak times, the pool is far too crowded, and the lines for the slides are far too long. This isn't communicated anywhere at the park: if you click through the website, you'll find a small message stating that the rapid river ride is closed, without any further explanation or a new opening date.
Food & Drinks
For vague reasons, we could only order pizza in the plaza area on the first evening. Unfortunately, it was a frozen pizza. We went back the next day for a coffee, cocktail, and afternoon snack, which was fine.
The plaza area is very noisy anyway: the evening buffet is also held in this area. During the buffet, carts with empty plates and dirty cutlery clatter across the tiles, making a lot of noise. Because we received little cooperation or answers from the staff, we didn't spend a single cent after our last cocktail.
Staff
I've often stayed at bungalow parks and hotels, but I've never felt more unwelcome than here. No one seems to want to make money off us, let alone go out of their way to make us feel like we're on vacation.
After 30 minutes in a nearly empty plaza area, we walked to the cash register ourselves to order something. When we told them we'd been waiting for half an hour, there was no response, no apology. Placing a new order was also nearly impossible.
We didn't receive a warm welcome at reception either upon arrival or departure: they seemed rather irritated that we had stopped by. When we asked how the buffet worked and what themed buffet was on that weekend, we only got a "no" in return. Ultimately, we decided to eat outside the resort two nights.
Conclusion
Conclusion: this park has a lot of potential, but due to lack of maintenance, poor communication, and a lack of customer service, we left with a bad taste in our mouths. I also don't understand why I had to hand in my bungalow keys at reception instead of throwing them in a bin in the parking lot, because the staff didn't seem to care at all that I was there.
I would drive on and find another destination...

The Van der Valk Resort in Linstow offers a beautiful location with plenty of options for accommodations, ranging from hotel rooms to holiday houses. While the setting is impressive and the variety appealing, my experience highlighted some important differences between the two.
Choosing a house may sound attractive for families or longer stays, but it comes with notable drawbacks. Despite the high prices, houses lack basic amenities such as bath towels, bathrobes, slippers, shower gel, conditioner, hand soap, and even a hairdryer. This was quite disappointing and made the hotel rooms a much better option in terms of comfort and convenience.
When it comes to dining, the buffet was underwhelming. The selection was limited, the taste didn’t live up to expectations, and even more confusing, the staff did not seem well-informed about what was actually included. The information provided differed depending on who you asked until the manager finally clarified matters. In contrast, the à la carte restaurant stood out as a far better choice and is the option I would recommend.
On the positive side, the drinks offered at the resort were excellent. Over my 5-day stay, I was able to try nearly all of them, and each one was well-prepared and delicious. For entertainment, both the bowling lanes and mini golf were great fun and added value to the experience. The resort also caters well to all age groups, making it a family-friendly destination.
Overall, while the resort has strong points, especially in terms of activities and drinks, the shortcomings with the houses and buffet service left a mixed impression. If you are planning to stay here, I would definitely recommend booking a hotel room instead of a house.
