We recently returned from an amazing week at this fantastic property. We will definitely be back. Not only was the property absolutely beautiful but the staff was attentive, hospitable, and just generally full of joy. We have to shout out some stand-out employees who made our experience most memorable. Luis every morning at breakfast; Lilliana and Angelo at Brassa and Bao; and our lovely and wonderful housekeeper Nikayree. All of these individuals (along with many others) went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and “part of the family.” Gorgeous property, immaculate rooms, delicious food, great service. The beach was spacious and beautiful. The pool area was well maintained and there were plenty of chairs for people to spread out. Grounds were well kept and the walking/bike trail was safe and provided a great environment for getting some extra exercise and seeing the surrounding area. Plus, the 5 minute ride from the airport allowed for the maximum amount of time to enjoy this location. Highly recommend.

I rarely write negative reviews, and as a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member who has remained loyal to the Marriott brand for many years, it is particularly difficult to say that our stay at the Westin Punta Cana has been extremely disappointing. This property markets itself as a luxury resort, but in reality it feels like a 3-star hotel charging 4–5 star prices with 1-star service. The issues started immediately upon arrival. We arrived at 1:00 PM and waited nearly three hours for our room. Staff explained the hotel was “100% booked,” yet after spending several days here, the property appears to be operating at maybe 30% occupancy at most, making the delay even harder to understand. The overall service culture is the biggest problem. Employees throughout the resort — hallways, pool, beach, and common areas routinely avoid eye contact when guests walk by. It genuinely feels like staff are trying not to be approached or asked for assistance, which creates an unwelcoming atmosphere completely opposite of what you expect from a Westin-branded property. Service at both the beach and pool is minimal to nonexistent. Staff circulate so infrequently that ordering drinks often requires leaving your chair and tracking someone down yourself. Ironically, the resort is missing an obvious opportunity to increase revenue simply by offering consistent service. When drinks do arrive, they are expensive and underwhelming. Charging $10 for a small bottle of water sets the tone, and the mixed drinks lack creativity, quality, or consistency expected at a resort at this price point. Unfortunately, the facilities themselves are unkept and noticeably dirty, which only adds to the frustration. For a resort positioned as upscale, basic cleanliness and upkeep should be a given — and here, it clearly is not as witnessed in the picture of our sofa. Service defines a resort experience, and this property falls far short. Until management addresses staffing engagement, guest service standards, cleanliness, and overall value relative to pricing, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere to travelers expecting a premium resort experience.

Outstanding hotel located on the beach with fantastic service. Rooms were exceptionally comfortable and clean. Staff was accommodating, friendly and attentive. Several restaurants and bars on location so there was no need to leave the property. Pool, property and beach were all well maintained. Overall an extremely positive experience. Highly recommend.

Two stars might be generous. Main complaints: 1) On our last night at the resort, there was a beach party at Playa Blanca until 3am in the morning. The loud bass and music made it impossible to sleep. The bass and music wreck havoc in our room with two young children. When phoning the hotel front desk, all we get is "sorry, we can't do anything about it". 2) Can't settle bill properly. There are clear discrepancies in the bill that was presented to us at check-out and what was charged to our credit card. And it's still not resolved after a month. 3) Service at the pool is lacking. We waited for almost an hour for our food - when checking with the staff, they lied and told us that the food was ready but looking for a box to pack it. We stood there waiting and saw that the bbq station had just started to cook our food. Wrong food items were delivered. We asked for condiments and the server went back and forth 3 times, forgetting it each time and finally brought it. What a disaster. The beach was beautiful and that was about it. It's not super family friendly, especially with young children.

The Westin Punta Cana Resort is undeniably luxurious and very comfortable. During my stay, the atmosphere was calm and quiet, which made for a relaxing visit. My junior suite was spacious and cozy, and even the standard rooms my kids stayed in were impressively large and comfortable. The pools and hot tubs were a highlight—beautifully maintained and a lot of fun for the kids. Unfortunately, the beach was disappointing. It was waveless and filled with weeds, which took away from the Caribbean experience I was expecting. Dining was another letdown. The hotel restaurants are extremely expensive, and many of the dishes we ordered didn’t feel worth the price. Even the pina colada, which we usually love, was served more like a pineapple slush—unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. We ended up driving out to explore other restaurants, which turned out to be worth the effort. Breakfast was costed at $30 per person, when all we eat is 2 eggs and a little bit of fruit, with tea. Thats unacceptable as well. Overall, while the resort offers comfort and tranquility, the beach and dining experiences fell short. I would not return here and would instead try another luxurious hotel further along the coast.
