The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Resort

Such a wonderful getaway. It’s like stepping away to another world. This resort is amazing. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and large. Beautiful views. I love how it’s a large resort but doesn’t feel crowded even when it’s full. The bar in the lobby is a great place for a quick drink or small snack. I highly recommend eating at the resort such as the Jasmine Porch. If you’re a local, go off season. It’s still beautiful weather and much cheaper!

So I have stayed at a lot of better resorts thru FHR program and this one is one of the bottom. First of all didn’t get any welcome and info email from concierge till the day I check in ( I called chase travel this am to ask if the trip do not go through). Nvr had this before , no arrangement on parking , spa, activities, tennis and no hi from consierge. At check in There was no upgrade for chase edit. The room TV was horrible, disconnects every 5 min making streaming absolutely impossible. Definitely not very five star five diamond to me…

Horrendous customer service, terrible for families. This hotel and their staff were beyond unprofessional during our stay. Prejudice against larger families with kids, no matter how well behaved. A poorly run, outdated, and very overpriced hotel pretending to be on par with other five star establishments. Inconsistent policies depending on who answers the phone/who you ask. I would never recommend this hotel to any family/friends/clients. The Villas have a low-class vibe, and the pool is a cesspool of filth/scantily clad out of towners getting bombed. The Sanctuary poses as high-brow but is full of rude staff and old couples. No in between here.

Great place to come in, stay the weekend, enjoy the food, weather, beach and the golf! Extremely friendly service and always with a smile, compelling you to come again and again!

Scenery was wonderful. Hotel is beautiful and the amenities are generally very nice. It's obviously expensive so my small complaints wouldn't be warranted at all typical chain hotel but I would expect a little more from a top resort place. Still, we enjoyed the experience.Anyway, wasn't too thrilled that when we walked in with suitcases and bags, nobody directed us where to check in, so we walked around confused for a minute or two, then the room we got was a double queen when we asked for a king bed. Also, all the EV charging stations were broken except for one which wasn't compatible with our rental (all the others were compatible) had to waste time driving up to the town hall and charging there. Also, a complimentary coffee bar would have been nice in the morning.
