The Riverie by Katathani

I don't know about the prices of the lodging or the food cuz we are on a group tour with Gate 1, and the dinner we had last night, and the bkfst we had this morning and tomorrow morning are included in our package (the dinner was choice of beef tenderloin with seasonal veggies, salmon with the same veggies, I think chicken with the same and a vegetarian meal, and what my wife and I had (as well as about 18 others out of our 33 person group), was the beef tenderloin and everyone thought it was delicious and tender, and I didn't hear any complaints about the other meals either. The bkfsts were/are buffets with so many choices of many different types of food - Thai, American, Indian, and I think one or two other nationalities. You can even get eggs/omelets made to order. One downside was the juice selection which was just Orange and a purple juice - I forget what they called it, but it wasn't that good. Not bad, but I didn't care for it. Would have preferred to have some guava or mango or other selections. Several highlights of the hotel - the main dinner restaurant is on the 10th floor with almost 360 degree views, especially of the sunset, the large pool below, and all the bldgs lit up, as well as the nice atmosphere that the restaurant gives, along with being able to be outside the restaurant looking all around! Then (at least this time - Feb 17 to 20), they have pathways overlooking the river all lit up with different colored lights on the grass and different figurines around the place, where you can take a casual walk and lots of places. The location is good, but don't know if it is good for other travelers, or if it's better for workers or families, since again, we are on a group trip and from the US. Speaking of families, there is a water river (whatever it is called, where you can float along in a tube or just with the current), and the pool has a small water play area for the kids. I do not know if the water river is with the hotel and costs extra or not, as we were sightseeing in the area on both days and stayed here 2 nights, so didn't have time to partake in any of what looked cool to do - wish we had one or two more nights here to go swimming and just relax, but that's not why we travel! The room is very spacious as is the bathroom - king size bed that is firm, but the mattress is not very thick, and ours had a board under it, which was not very forgiving or comfortable. I do not know if the other members of our group had that or not, but that was one thing I didn't care for, and was a first for me in any country or any hotel. I like beds that are firm, but this one was actually uncomfortable! I don't like beds that dip down in the middle, but the hotels our group stays at are not that kind of class. I expected better from this hotel, as it appears to be a 5 star hotel in my mind from all it offers. I will have to ask other people from our group if their bed had a board under the mattress, or if it was just our room (which was 3201). It might sound like I'm complaining, but I'm not, as I would stay here again. I'm just letting the readers and the hotel mgmnt what I found and what I think could be improved and how. I understand places can't please everyone in every instance, as we are all human and like different things and hotels try to please as many people as they can, which this hotel has done a Great job of doing 👍😄

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The family room was extremely comfortable and perfectly organized for a family — spacious, practical, and thoughtfully arranged. The room was spotless and impeccably clean. The service was exceptionally kind and welcoming, making us feel well taken care of from the moment we arrived. The overall atmosphere truly delivers an amazing resort experience. There is a wonderful water park for the kids and so many activities to choose from — unfortunately, we didn’t even have time to try them all! Highly recommended for families looking for comfort, quality service, and a true resort getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at The Reiverie Hotel. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The pool area is great, and the water play zone is perfect for kids. There is also a lovely kids’ club with very kind and friendly staff, which made our stay even more enjoyable as a family. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, always happy to answer questions and assist with anything we needed. We booked a room with breakfast included, and the breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. There was even a sweets station and sandwiches that kids will love. At night, the hotel becomes especially charming — everything is beautifully lit, and the garden turns colorful and vibrant, with beautifully illuminated sculptures that create a magical atmosphere. The hotel is also located right next to the river, which adds to the relaxing and scenic feeling.

Wow we loved this place! They upgraded us to the family suite for like $30, let us check in at 10am and checkout at 1:30pm! Beds were super comfy and rooms were nice and dark for good sleeping conditions. The kids loved the water park and we enjoyed their huge pool. Gym was adequate but i walked next door to use a gym with more equipment. Breakfast was superb, so many choices. The staff everywhere was so kind; we didn't want to leave! That was the view from our balcony too, love the mountains surrounding us

The Riverie by Katathani is a wholesome experience which always you craving for more Visiting the city of Chiang Rai is a gift in itself and staying at The Riverie by Katathani is like a cherry on the cake itself Nestled in a very peaceful area right next to Rive Kok, the hotel offers you a great mix of things which you will always cherish in the future Designed mainly for families (but single travelers can also equally enjoy it), The Riverie by Katathani offer a great combo of family experience including children pool area, a tremendous water park, soft area for kids, jumping castle and much more. The most scenic thing is its location right next to the river which is the ultimate experience for nature and peace-seeking individuals. POSITIVES (+) Staff is extremely nice and friendly with being always there to extend assistance as and whenever required. From the nice old man who welcomes you at the main gate to concierge, everyone is there to offer you a warm welcom (+) Location is exquisite as it is near to Night market (8 mins drive), walking distance to nearby restaurants like Hungry Wolf and 15 mins drive to the airport (+) The breakfast is amazing with a wide range of continental and western cuisine. The restaurant for breakfast has outdoor seating available which is highly recommended due to the beautiful scene of the river and green pastuers (+) Many of the people stay there might not know that there is a 2km long walking track right next to the hotel. This track runs parallel to the river, offering joggers and walkers an amazing mix of views and energy. I went on a walk early morning to this track and was the most amazing experience of my stay (+) The lobby bar is available with all drink options with a courteous staff. Live singing adds another excellent angle to the overall experience (+) Water park, jumping castle, kids pool, soft playing area are just fantastic plus points to this place. They make parents glee with joy as the kids go for a splash and enjoy the stay (+) Every thing inside is cozy and conveniently located - from washrooms everywhere to stairs / elevators - bridges leading to walking track to serene & clean walkway to the main road NEGATIVES (-) The bar at the pool seemed mostly quiet with no staff around. I wanted to order drinks and snacks for the family but wasn't able to find anyone around it (-) The inside of the hotel looks epic but the same cannot be said about the outside of the hotel building. Maybe some renovation work can be done to improve the external facade of the building to match its interior side Overall - highly recommended and I would definitely like to stay here again in future RATING: 9 / 10
