We stayed one night on a voucher deal, but extended our stay to 2 nights. We arrived in awful stormy weather and were shown to our deluxe room by the wonderful Phoebe. The room , for over £240 a night was small but with all amenities. However, having never ever complained about a room, my husband declared, quite rightly, that the bathroom was like an ice box. The wind was coming straight through the single glazing and making the bathroom freezing cold and I mean freezing! Phoebe, the nice manager, agreed and offered us a superior room, but we kindly said we'd wait as we'd completely unpacked. The wind calmed down and the bathroom became bearable. Our first evening meal was a disappointment. When it says seafood risotto, with a Scottish seafood selection for £29 I expect a little more than two small prawns, one piece of salmon the size of a 50p coin and half a scallop! The young waitresses were friendly but didn't know which side to put our knives and forks! The breakfasts were very good but we waited nearly 10 mins for the young waitress to come into the restaurant (she'd obviously been smoking outside). There were 3 breakfast tables and they stayed uncleared for the duration of our breakfast. We were only in the Bonnie Badger, no where else. We left at lunchtime and by 3pm I was extremely unwell.
Sorry, but we were so looking forward to our stay at the Bonnie Badger and, unfortunately, were disappointed. Not worth what we paid.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Bonnie Badger over New Year. Situated centrally in Gullane, the pub is ideally located for exploring the area and walking on the beach. Buses to Edinburgh and North Berwick pass the front door. The food and drink were delicious. The New Year’s Eve dinner was preceded and followed by delightful bagpipe music. We were chauffeured through the dinner by the sommelier, Mark who appeared also to have oversight of exceptional and personable young staff; and here’s the point: it was the staff who excelled in creating the ambience which made our residence so pleasurable. Hats off also to those unseen heroes, both in the kitchen and cleaning and tidying up the rooms, who delivered in spades. Thank you.

Went for a lunch at the broc bar after a lovely circular walk around Gullane. We read some rave reviews about the food and were excited to eat some fresh, local food. What a disappointing experience.
The food was far from substandard. My pie, which cost £21 had about 5 pieces of meat in it and no sides. My friend ordered sausage and mash and was given smash with cheap microwave sausages.
If this was a Wetherspoons with atmosphere I wouldn’t have complained. The prices are for premium food and there was no atmosphere. The staff were polite but I definitely wouldn’t recommend. The food on offer is not hard to do well so there really are no excuses.

Finally got to use a voucher received last Christmas and it was worth the wait. The whole experience was excellent. We had lunch in the bar. All of the staff were very attemtive and seemed genuinely happy to help.
Both mains were well received, and the sticky toffee pudding was divine. We wont leave it so long to make another visit!

Spent two nights at this fabulous hotel.
Their attention to detail is outstanding. The food was amazing and service was excellent. Accommodation is lovely with everything you could ask for. Everywhere is so stylish and I can't wait to go back when we can use the beautiful garden. Well done to everyone for making The Bonnie Badger the most amazing place to spend time.
