Slieve Russell Hotel

Two night stay(Young at Heart). Great hotel, good food and friendly and attentive staff. On arrival, Online check in avoided the queue at reception, however door key didn't work, two attempts and a room change that then turned into a room upgrade sorted out the problem and was very welcome. Reception must be thanked for coming up trumps

Amazing Hotel and the staff are so friendly and courteous. They could not do enough for us and catered to my wife's dietary requirements with such ease. We did notify them before our arrival. Nothing was a bother to all the staff. Lovely walks around the grounds. And the spa treatments were second to none.

I together with a friend attended the hotel just over a week ago for afternoon tea. We arrived at 2pm and took a seat on one of the sofas in reception. Waiting staff were present, however nobody came to us so I went to reception and said we were there for afternoon tea. The receptionist said a staff member would be with us shortly. However I had to go to reception a second time to remind them we were waiting to order afternoon tea. By this time, 45 mins had elapsed. We ordered afternoon tea and sadly found it underwhelming bearing in mind the cost. Thick poor quality white sliced bread with crusts and one slice of brown seeded bread. We were expecting a little more refinement with crusts removed etc. Fillings were basic. The sweet items were nice, however the plain scone was dry, the jam was more of a syrup and very runny and very little cream, nowhere near enough jam and cream for 2 scones. Expensive for the quality abs tea and coffee cups removed without being asked if we're finished. Won't go back for afternoon again.

From the moment we arrived, this hotel impressed us with its beautiful, spacious bedrooms and fantastic facilities — but what truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible food. Our dinner was a highlight of the entire trip. The starter, a beautifully presented salad topped with perfectly crisp lamb croquettes, was fresh, flavourful, and plated with real attention to detail. The main course was just as impressive: a perfectly cooked fillet of seabass. Every bite was balanced and delicious. And dessert was the perfect finale. The dining experience alone is worth staying here for. Combined with the elegant rooms and excellent amenities. Highly recommended — we can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic 2 days, food was delicious. Staff were amazing. The South African girl in the Summit restaurant (didn’t catch her name) she was so attentive and lovely with the kids. The breakfast staff were also lovely. Kudos to the night porter who was unbelievably helpful when my son became unwell I would like to thank him but again didn’t get his name he was working on the night of the 25th and really couldn’t do enough for us. Room 204 was fabulous for a family of 5. Very spacious. Leisure centre was clean and warm. The spa is unbelievable ! Thermal suite was closed for maintenance but we honestly didn’t need it as we were relaxed enough after wonderful massages. We will definitely be back. Please thank the night porter from me I would have loved to see him before we left to thank him myself.
