Pestana Porto Santo ALL INCLUSIVE

Amazing location. The staff are friendly. They have everything you need for a relaxing break, pool, beach and kids club. Lots of fun activities for children and adults both. I would highly recommend coming. We will definitely be coming back.

The infrastructure and garden setting is very nice, as is the direct access to the lovey & spacious golden sand beach (lifeguard present). Their facilities are more than sufficient. Sunbeds are sprend out around the pools and in their dune area - very nice! Our room was spacious and clean, nice terrace area - but the whole room did reek of dirty mop water the entire time during our stay (also small ants in the bathroom & living area every day). Guests hang their towels and bathing suits over the terrace railing which doesn't support a 5-star feel. I must say however, there isn't a small deployable clothing rack mounted to the wall outside to use. Moving forward, this is clearly a resort for families. We were here in de 2nd half of October, at about 1/4 capacity, and the grand majority of guests had babies and/or children. Outdoors the sound levels are no problem at all, but during breakfast, lunch and dinner it is very noicy. Moreover, the foods at the buffet may look great on paper, but in reality the quality at which it's served is low, really low. The dress code at the restaurants, well, there is none... Reception personel is very friendly, as the SPA, animation team and the lady at beach bar. However, apart from the lead man in the main resto responsable for the area on and around the terras, and Khalid (top guy!), our personal experience was that just about everyone else of the staff was very distant, hardly or not reacting/looking up, to a 'hello' or 'thank you'. All in all, beautiful place but don't come here and expect a wonderfull and relaxing gastronomic experience, which a 5-star resort should provide in our opinion.

Worst thing ever. Treated us like animals. Paid for all inclusive, but the hotel wanted to decide when we could eat and where. Furthermore there were guards telling us we could not sit in the bar area and two of the pool areas. Did not have one single place to relax because they were telling us what to do and be all the time. Horrible experience 0/10 recommendations from us… Stay away from this place!

I am here for a beach handball tournament, and honestly, I am extremely disappointed. I stayed at this same hotel two years ago, and back then it was a completely different experience – much better in every way. This time, it feels like we’re being treated as second-class guests, even though we pay the same price, if not more. We’re forced to eat in a separated area, the food barely changes and is mostly cold, and we’re not even allowed to get drinks at the pool bar until 7 p.m. Certain parts of the hotel are completely off-limits for us, blocked by security guards, as if we don’t belong here. For a five-star resort, this treatment is absolutely unacceptable. I can understand that the hotel wants to give regular guests a peaceful experience, but this is not the way to do it. The way this is organized makes it miserable for everyone involved. What’s even worse, they still call this “all-inclusive” – but it’s definitely not. I really hope the tournament organizers never choose this hotel again. It’s a shame how paying guests are treated here.

We were in the unfortunate position where our flight to Madeira was redirected to Porto Santo due to weather conditions and we were stuck overnight. We needed somewhere last minute to book for the night and Pestana was the most recommended by all people / services. We were so pleasantly surprised when arriving at Pestana, huge thank you to the staff in the reception area for being so helpful, kind and understanding of the situation. We were able to enjoy some of the all inclusive benefits and the service was really brilliant. Our room was large, clean and stylish and it was such a relief after a long day of delays and issues with our airline. We agreed we wished we'd considered Porto Santo and specifically Porto Santo for our holiday as the little time we spent there, it was magnificent. (No offence to Madeira as that was lovely too!)
