Penha Longa Resort

We had high expectations given this is a Michelin three-key hotel and operated by Ritz. The guest experience coordinator also reached out to asked about our preferences prior to the stay. It turns out to be an okay five star (with the amenities that a five star hotel would have, such as nice breakfast, pools, sauna, golf course). We were not impressed, however, especially by the service. Housekeeping was not as attentive as they should be - did not refill toiletries; left a bottle of cleaner on the table after housekeeping; did not clean the mud on our balcony after a rainy day, turndown service came so late that we thought they weren’t going to come and got ready ourselves. The lobby gets very crowded and loud. The room smells moldy in rainy days. We did enjoy the breakfast, monastery tour and the port opening ceremony in the lobby (although I wish we were told about this when I asked the staff what activities the hotel had - they responded none).

Penha Longa is situated in a beautiful area of Sintra. The rooms are really comfortable. The facilities are perfect and theres so many places to explore on the property itself. For me, the staff is the most memorable part. All of the staff members are friendly and welcoming. The food is nice and varied. Go in the winter time for the best prices

This is our second reservation at this resort — we stayed one night last week and loved it so much that we canceled our original hotel plans and booked here again. It turned out to be the perfect choice to celebrate our anniversary and my husband’s birthday. We’ve stayed at many luxury Marriott properties — Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, EDITION, W Hotels — and this one is truly the best of them all. The property is stunning: beautifully maintained grounds, a gorgeous golf course, and spacious rooms with a modern, luxurious feel. Our Garden Suite was peaceful, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. Lisbon people are warm in general, but the staff here bring hospitality to an entirely different level. Every single team member we met was genuinely kind, helpful, and attentive. A special thank you to David at check-in. He arranged an early check-in, and when he learned our suite would be ready in about 20 minutes, he immediately offered us breakfast while we waited. He also shared a thoughtful list of local restaurants. His service truly went above and beyond. We also want to thank Abhishek, who helped us with our luggage and took the time to show us around the suite. He proudly introduced Marriott hotels in his home country of Nepal, and his warmth made us feel instantly welcome. And a huge thank you to Ella, who served us at breakfast. She was incredibly attentive, and her smile and kindness made our mornings feel extra special. Staff like David, Abhishek, and Ella are truly the most valuable assets to Marriott — they are the reason guests come back. This stay was so exceptional that it genuinely motivated us to work toward Titanium Elite status. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else when we return to Lisbon.

This place is ideal for a few days retreat from hustle bustle of cities like Lisbon. My favourite place so far near Cascais, Portugal. It feels like a seven star residence and has one of the best restaurants in town which includes a two Michelin star. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Excellent amenities and best Spa. It has one of the most beautiful golf courses which I have seen in 30 square kilometres area. No match for this place in every way near Lisbon. Will definitely come again.

Penha Longa Resort, Sintra – Luxury and Serenity Combined 🌿✨ We stayed at the Penha Longa Resort, and it was absolutely stunning – a true 5-star luxury experience set amidst the rolling hills and greenery of Sintra. Our room was spacious and elegant, with beautiful views overlooking the golf course – the perfect place to unwind after exploring the area. The breakfast was outstanding, full of variety and quality, and the spa offered a lovely, relaxing experience that completed the stay perfectly. What makes it even better is the location – just 15 minutes from both Sintra and Cascais, making it ideal for exploring while still enjoying peaceful resort luxury. Everything about Penha Longa radiates calm, comfort, and understated elegance – a resort that truly delivers on every level. 🌸🌄
