Le Grand Alcazar - Riad

This was such an amazing place to stay. In a great location to explore the Medina. The breakfast was always delicious and if you get chance to eat dinner there it was definitely an experience. The staff are all very lovely and happy to help you with organizing tours and etc. The rooms were always made up daily and were always clean. Highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to Fes.

I am reinforcing Stephen Shostak’s earlier review. At our drop-off point in the old town, there was no staff to meet us as promised, and we were left to walk through the streets with our luggage like backpackers to reach the riad. Upon arrival, there were staff present, but they were clearly inexperienced and incompetent. There was no mention of a room upgrade. Both the rooms and the service were poor and fell well short of anything that could reasonably be described as luxurious. There are far better options available at this price point (such as Riad Fes, which is beautiful!), and I would strongly advise steering clear of Le Grand Alcazar. The fact that the property has still not offered a refund, despite the fact we did not actually stay there, is shameful.

Absolutely terrible, photos are fake and I would question the integrity of the positive reviews. My full summary is on TripAdvisor but there is no service, the hotel was dirty and the rooms resembled a youth hostel. We are frequent luxury travelers and I can’t be strong enough to suggest, for the price, there are so many better places to stay. The Management also are completely unethical, after explaining the situation they refused to take my calls, would not refund any money despite us not staying at all there as the rooms amend Riad were horrible. Avoid at all costs.

This has been a once in a lifetime experience. From the staff to the property…exquisite. As other reviews mentioned, the bathroom does have a sort of mildew smell, but it’s negligible compared to the beauty of the riad itself. Our room was ornate and gorgeous. The staff made sure everything we needed was managed. Including walking us to shops to ensure we made it safely. Also this is a convenient location. Very close to taxis/pickup for tours. Highly recommend it!

Our stay at Le Grand Alcazar has been nothing short of wonderful! The staff are so kind and will go above and beyond to make your stay great! They gave us a free room upgrade and made sure we had everything we needed. This hotel was one of the best parts of our stay in Fes.They truly make you feel like this is your home!
