Hotel Principe Palace

The hotel room is tidy and clean. They’re lucky to be located in the city center. However, the rooms facing the square are noisy because of the street sounds in the evening. The other rooms unfortunately have unpleasant views — facing messy courtyards or worse.
The cleaning staff are kind, but if they’re vacuuming above or next to your room, it’s impossible to rest — not a pleasant experience in the morning.
The staff in general are friendly. Breakfast is excellent. Dinner, however, is terrible. You have to choose one of three main courses the day before — which would still be fine — but every evening we had to send the main dish back because it was undercooked, tasteless, and frankly awful.
The “kind” owner or general manager — he is a gentleman, but not meant as a compliment.
If you don’t park your car exactly the way he demands — even though parking costs a steep price — he starts shouting and being extremely rude, a typical unpleasant Italian stereotype. He even said that if something happened to your car, he could buy three more anyway. What kind of attitude is that?!
The parking area behind the hotel is small and narrow, or you have to park farther away and walk back. If you don’t park exactly as they think you should — even because someone else parked badly — the owner tells you to move your car out to the street immediately, even though the parking spot on the hotel property was already paid for.
On the roof, there’s a private pool — but it’s ice-cold. The sun warms it up a bit, but still, it remains freezing.
In summary: shiny on the outside, a disaster on the inside.
Sorry, but I do not recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, attentive staff, gorgeous pool on the roof, tasty food. What more could you want?

We visited for a family holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. Room not luxurious but very comfortable. But the hotel itself was spotless throughout. The roof pool was spotless and quiet, the bar staff round the pool exceptional. Best of all was the dining room, food to an excellent standard cooked to perfection. The restaurant waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. A visit to Venice takes two hours on local bus and water taxi (boat).

One of the best hotels I’ve been to. Great rooftop with viewing space, a bar and a pool. The Service was perfect. All the people there are nice, helpful and even make you laugh sometimes. The beach is only a little walk away and you get chairs and a beach umbrella for free with a stay in this hotel.

We were married in Venice 5 years and we recently returned for our anniversary. This was by far the best holiday experience we have had. The holiday staff are so friendly and courteous. The food is wonderful. The location of the hotel is excellent for the beach and being on the Plaza Mazzini there is plenty of entertainment. The rooftop pool is lovely and clean. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be returning!
