My husband and I wanted a week away somewhere warm, quiet and relaxing and that is what we got.
This is a modern, quiet, spacious, tidy hotel in a great location next to the sea. The bed was soft the shower was big and powerful. The lighting took some getting used to, but there was ample. There was a kettle, tea, milk, and Nespresso coffee machine with pods.
The food was wonderful with an abundance of choices for breakfast and evening meal. There was a set menu that was different country every day and a buffet, you could have both if you wanted. There’s a bar down stairs near reception overlooking the sea where you could get evening cocktails and listen to live music. There was a Spa there, but we never tried it.
Around one side of the hotel grounds, was a path that leads along the edge of the beach and it was well used by runners and walkers wanted to walk beside the sea. We booked a superior room with sea view and used our balcony a lot, after a day in the sun, just sipping drinks and watching the world go by and the surfers. It’s sad that there was a battle for the best sun beds around the pool, with towels left very early without any one on them until late morning.
Out the front of the hotel was a wonderful area with modern, chic shops, bars and restaurants to stroll around.
Really enjoyed my stay and I definitely hope to get back one day.

Overall an excellent stay. Superb location by the sea and for excellent simple walks from the hotel during the day or after dinner.
PLUSES:
The guy with the white hat round the poolside is SUPERBLY helpful
Excellent good for breakfasts and dinners. Fresh and good quality. Order what you’d like that is not from the buffet when they offer you the orange juice. That’s best plan
Very friendly and good quality staff overall.
Good bar for a cocktail.
Some rooms have great views.
7 mins walk from the dunes if you want to see them. Great an hour before sunset and down the side of the ‘reservoir’
TO IMPROVE:
Beds will be a little hard for some. Ask for a softener
Be prepared to wait a while for lifts
Music around at low level often everywhere. Better with better music or none
Shower is not properly separate from the bedroom. Noise and light for others in the room
All in all, recommended

Our 4th visit in just over 4 years, but probably our last unfortunately. Standards appear to have slipped somewhat since our last visit. The shower flooded the room. Yes it was resolved after letting reception know, but you don't expect this in the first place from a 5 star hotel. Hot drinks served lukewarm. Wrong drinks served. Had to ask 3 times for glasses in the room. Pool cold, supposed to be heated, the quality of the ala carte menu not what it was, the singers were very poor (we used to sit in the bar and listen to them, not this time though), the massage room near room was terrible (we both booked in for reflexology, but it certainly wasn't that, more of a light foot rub, with the guy doing it constantly on his phone. Avoid there, a total rip off). We've had some amazing holidays there, but time for a change I'm afraid.

Based on the friendliness of the staff, this hotel could easily deserve more than five stars. Every single member of staff is genuinely friendly and helpful — quite exceptional.
The location is excellent, right by the sea and the dunes, with the promenade literally on the doorstep.
The breakfast buffet and the menu options are excellent, and the terrace is a very pleasant place to have breakfast while enjoying the beautiful view.
In terms of interior design, the hotel is not entirely to my taste, but that is not an issue. However, there are a few points for improvement. The corridors, staircases and the room itself are poorly lit. In addition, I find the layout of the toilet, shower and washbasin very impractical. I am staying at the hotel for a few more days and would be happy to explain this in more detail if required 😊
I also find it odd that the turndown service takes place around 5:00 pm. You then return to a dark room with the curtains closed, or you may be in the shower at that time. This feels rather inconvenient.
Despite this, it is an excellent hotel.

Love, love, love this hotel! Hotel Faro completely exceeded my expectations. The location couldn’t be more perfect — right on Boulevard El Faro, close to shops, restaurants, and even a taxi station right outside.
The little touches, like a beach bag, towels, and sandals waiting in your room, made my stay feel extra special.
Breakfast was fantastic — a mix of buffet favorites (think bacon, pastries, fresh juice, sparkling wine!) plus à la carte options like omelets and Eggs Benedict.
And the rooftop pool? Such a vibe — great music, stunning views, and cocktails that hit just right. I highly recommend this hotel and absolutely can’t wait to return.
