Hotel Edelweiss

The hotel is situated in a very peaceful location, and from the very first moment, the staff were exceptionally welcoming. Balazs and Tomas made sure to accommodate all my requests and took the time to show me around the hotel. Sara and Ida at the buffet were always very helpful, checking on me and the kids every time to see if we needed anything. From the moment you arrive, you truly feel at home. Tomas also provided very useful information about the ski slopes and routes and even gave my kids little gifts when we were checking out, which meant a lot to us. The hotel itself has a relaxing, cozy atmosphere with a beautiful scenic view. A big thank you to Matthias, the head chef when I arrived, he was already waiting for me, asking about any special preferences and even showing me his Halal certificate to accommodate my dietary requirements. The food was top-notch; even my kids, who usually struggle with food, kept commenting on how good dinner was. Breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of options.

We stayed in October 2024, and can’t wait to return! Location is super close to the train station, but had incredible views of the valley & the glacier. Our hosts took the time to visit with us daily, gave us incredible advice on our destinations & how to get there the best way (Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, etc). The rooms were excellent & we can’t rave enough about how good our stay was!! Highly recommend you choose this location for your Swiss stay!

Had a wonderful stay here! Monica greeted us and was so wonderful with great recommendations. We also met the head chef who makes breakfast and dinner to order daily. The sauna was lovely to use after a day of hiking. The rooms are petite but have everything you need for your stay. Excellent views of Eiger!!

Stayed here for 4 nights along with my wife here. It was such an amazing experience throughout. Starting from the check-in process where they helped us by explaining everything that can be done around the hotel. They have maps that really help us understand the trails. They have an amazing team that ensured we have a great stay - Tom who was so warm and used to come talk to us daily to ensure if we’re doing good, Balazs who explained the hiking paths beautifully well, Sarah who was so kind and greeted us for breakfast everyday and last but not the least, Matthias who is the head chef, he ensured got the best food to have for breakfast and even made us Rosti and Fondue for dinner, which was amazing, he also knows Wengen really well and it was fun hanging out with him. The room was enough for 2 people, balcony is good with an amazing view of the mountains. They have good amenities too. It’s close by to the train station too, little uphill when going to the station but a taxi can be booked, for which Tom was kind enough to help us with. Overall, had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it.

We stayed at Hotel Edelweiss for our honeymoon and had such a wonderful stay. Everyone that we encountered working there was very welcoming and it is clear they go above and beyond to make sure their guests enjoy their stay. When we arrived we were welcomed by Monica who gave great suggestions for activities to do in the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a great view of the scenic mountains. We ended up eating dinner at the restaurant both nights of our stay because we enjoyed it so much. We went to a few different towns during our honeymoon and this was definitely the highlight!
