Hotel Cruccuris: Premium Done Right (Mostly)
Don’t let Sardinia’s generally relaxed pricing fool you – Hotel Cruccuris in Villasimius operates firmly in premium territory, and largely earns it. At €380 per night for a sea view room in September, expectations run high, and this hotel delivers on most fronts.
What I Liked:
The fundamentals are exceptional. Rooms are surprisingly large with big, comfortable beds and that sea view you’re paying for. Cleanliness is excellent throughout – clearly a property that takes maintenance seriously. The staff deserve particular credit: genuinely friendly and professional without the forced hospitality you often get at this price point.
The pool area is well-maintained and the location works beautifully. Spiaggia Campus is a pleasant 20-minute walk, or you can use their shuttle service to Villasimius and various beaches. Parking is adequate, which isn’t always guaranteed in Sardinian coastal towns. September evenings were blissfully quiet, punctuated nicely by good live music on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights – a quality touch that adds real atmosphere.
The hotel clearly understands what premium hospitality should feel like: effortless, clean, and genuinely welcoming.
What I Didn’t Like:
The bar pricing is genuinely shocking across the board. €9 for imported German beer is steep, but even local Ichnusa costs €6 for a mere 33cl bottle – more expensive than Oktoberfest, which takes some doing. The predictable result? Guests buy cheap alcohol elsewhere and retreat to their rooms with Netflix, leaving the bar completely dead. It’s a self-defeating strategy that kills any evening social atmosphere the hotel might otherwise create.
The bathroom design is oddly compromised. Despite the generous room size, the shower feels cramped and poorly planned – a strange oversight in an otherwise well-executed space.
The Verdict:
Hotel Cruccuris gets the big things right: location, service, cleanliness, and comfort. The bar pricing actively undermines the social experience, but if you can live with that or plan accordingly, this is premium Sardinian hospitality done properly.

From the moment we arrived at Cruccuris Resort, we were enveloped in a sense of absolute peace and serenity. The atmosphere is truly heavenly – quiet, calming, and perfect for anyone looking to escape the stress of everyday life.
Every corner of the resort is designed to help you unwind. The lush gardens, the tranquil pool areas, and the gentle sounds of nature all contribute to a remarkably high relaxation factor. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can finally breathe.
What truly exceeded our expectations, however, was the cuisine. Every meal was a delight – fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Whether it was breakfast which left nothing to be desired or an exquisite dinner, the culinary experience was consistently outstanding.
A small downside was the distance to the beach – but we took it as a chance to get some light exercise and simply enjoyed the downhill walk. In the end, it added to the relaxed and healthy vibe of the whole stay.
The staff deserves a special mention: everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We also loved how dog-friendly the resort is – our little dog felt completely at home and was allowed to join us almost everywhere, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
Cruccuris Resort is a hidden gem – the perfect destination for anyone seeking peace, comfort, and exceptional food. We can’t wait to return!

A peaceful gem! We had a truly relaxing stay at Cruccuris Resort. The adults-only atmosphere creates the perfect environment to unwind. The staff work hard and are always attentive and special thanks to Daniela, who was consistently helpful and available throughout our stay. The dinners were lovely, and the entire experience felt serene and well cared for. We hope to return next year!

The Cruccuris Resort is a very nice adults-only hotel, settled in a beautiful garden and in a very tranquil surrounding.
Our room (Junior Suite) was very spacious with a nice terrace and garden. Newly renovated bathroom and in total a real feel-good room. Very clean as well.
All amenities of the hotel as pool, garden and gym are well maintained.
We were on HB basis, which I would highly recommend as the food at dinner was purely amazing. You have a 4-course menu and many different items to choose. All were delicious and apart from a real good taste, also a feast for the eyes. Also for breakfast a lot of local and international items were available. For lunch you have the a-la carte poolside restaurant.
All the staff at the hotel were super friendly and very professional. All in all we had a perfect stay!!
Some of the best beaches of the island are also close by or in easy reach. Therefore a car is recommended.

A total disappointment – never again!
We chose Cruccuris Resort for our honeymoon, and after spending three nights at the end of June, we realized we could have made a much better choice.
Let’s start with the positives:
• The hotel is clean and well-maintained.
• If you’re looking to completely disconnect and stay in a secluded place without leaving the hotel, the setting may suit you.
However, the negative aspects significantly outweighed the good:
• Extremely poor value for money. There are many hotels in the area offering similar or better standards at half the price.
• Far from the beach. If you don’t bring your own beach gear, you’ll have to pay €54 per day to use the facilities (sunbed and umbrella) at their sister hotel, Stella Maris, located by the sea.
• Breakfast was very disappointing. Omelettes are charged extra, pastries taste like store-bought items, and the “americano” was just lukewarm instant coffee.
• The room, though clean and spacious, felt outdated in style and decor.
• The minibar didn’t cool anything and only contained paid bottled water. There was no kettle, tea, or coffee in the room, making it impossible to relax and enjoy a quiet drink at night.
• Upon checkout, we were politely asked for feedback, to which we responded honestly that we wouldn’t return. The only reply we received was a flat “I understand.”
Throughout our stay, we kept wondering how this place receives such high ratings and why others choose it.
Villasimius is a charming town with easy access to many beautiful beaches by car. You’re better off booking a reasonably priced hotel closer to the beach instead of searching for “luxury.” Cruccuris, unfortunately, fails to deliver on expectations as a 4-star hotel.
